.hack//INFECTION (Part 1) Hint: Gold and Silver Axes
If you want to get a golden or silver axe, warp to a stage with a mysterious pool of water. You can throw in armor or weapons for level up, or recieve a free golden or silver axe.

To get the axes, take any weapon or armor and throw it in the pool. A water drop monster will come out and ask you if you want a gold axe, a silver axe, or neither. Say, "Neither".

If the weapon or armor you throw in hasn't reached a certain level, the monster will upgrade it; however, if your weapon can't grow any more, you will get a free gold and silver axes as well as get your item back.

This trade works better if you throw in a silver or golden axe in the first place and tell him you lost neither. A great way to build up your gold/silver axe stockpile, sell it for money, repeat . . .

.hack//INFECTION (Part 1) Unlock Parody Mode (Japan only)
To unlock Parody Mode, beat the game once. You'll now have the option of turning on a joke dialogue track. Note: The US version of the game does not have this feature.

.hack//INFECTION (Part 1) Extra Boss
After you clear the game, a Bandai e-mail will tell of something called a "Mummy Ship". The extra boss is inside.

.hack//INFECTION (Part 1) Hint: Best Weapon (Heavy)
The strongest weapon for Blackrose (or any Heavy Blade character) is the Blaze Sword. You can get it by Data Draining the Hell Hounds in a Level 28 to 30 key word, such as Voluptuous Geothermal Paradise.

.hack//INFECTION (Part 1) Hint: Always Optimum
Just like Eternal Darkness or Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain, .hack lets your characters regain magic (or SP) over time. This makes the game easy beyond comparison, since all you need to do is wait in a safe place until your magic is refilled.

.hack//INFECTION (Part 1) Hint - Best Weapon (Kite)
Kite's best available weapon for this game is the L14 Dual Blade. Data Drain the MU Guardians until you manage to steal it.

.hack//INFECTION (Part 1) Hint: Free Stuff Glitch
Making this game even easier is exploiting this glitch. Go to any room that has breakable items like pots and stuff that spawns items when they break. Simply break the pots, exit the room, and come back in and do it again. Easier than programming code into a Gameshark!

.hack//INFECTION (Part 1) Hint: Assemble Ryu Book
There are eight Ryu Books in Infection. Each one can be earned only from seemingly random data drains. Once all eight are earned, you unlock a one of a kind movie on Infection.

.hack//INFECTION (Part 1) Hint: Goblin Gear
Kite and party discovers 5 keywords during the game. Each area the keywords dump your party in, you will be asked to play tag with one of five goblins.

Attack the goblin when you get within range, then Data Drain the sucker for a goblin item. The first item is usually the GOBLIN CAP. While individually weak, these items are marked rare for a reason.

When you acquire all five Goblin items, equip the goblin gear and you can use the Imp Pin to summon goblins to fight with your party.

.hack//INFECTION (Part 1) DVD Easter Egg
This is for the companion DVD for .hack Part 1. On the Title Menu, select Data, highlight Main, and press RIGHT then LEFT. Instructions will follow on how to navigate this new section!

.hack//INFECTION (Part 1) Hint: Raise an Iron Grunty Easily
Give a baby Grunty 4 Piney Apples, 3 Snaky Cactuses, and 12 Golden Eggs.

.hack//INFECTION (Part 1) Hint: DVD Keywords
While watching the first DVD there are times when three or four random words show up in the movie as subtitles. They are really area keywords. The server symbol shows up, but you need to take a quick look for the symbol. Head for that area's gott statue (the thing at the lowest level of the dungeon). The first area is Delta (triangle) Voluptuous Her Remnant (L3). Its rare item is the Kagayuzen. The next area is Delta (triangle) Hideous organmarket scaffold (L14). Its item is a treasure called ice bar. The next area is beta (8) Dog Dancing passionate tripansy (L19). Its rare item is the Seramic helm. Hope this helps.

.hack//INFECTION (Part 1) Hint: Goblin Whacking
1. Stehoney-easiest, just use a speed charm and go after him.

2. Jonue-still easy, use another speed charm and go after him too.

3. Zyan-gets a little tougher, he's got better evasion but a speed charm should be all you need.

4. Albert-very good evasion and speed, the trick to getting this guy is to get far enough away from him so that he stops running then run at him and attack. Might take a little while but it'll get him eventually.

5. Martina-man I hate this one, she'll cast Rig Saem(a gradula healing spell) on herself and with her running away from you, she's got plenty of time to recover. Try to get close to her and use skills like Staccatto or Twin Dragons.
