SOCOM: U.S. Navy Seals II Hint: Third-Person Night Vision
When playing online you can use your night vision googles and still be in the third person perspective. This allows you to see much more that you normally would in first person. To do it, hold down select so that the scoreboard is displayed. While the button is depressed push UP, UP, DOWN, UP. If done correctly night vision should be on and you can still see your character. (Sometimes you have to keep pressing up and down a few times for it to work.)
SOCOM: U.S. Navy Seals II Hint: SOCOM Steady-Shot
When you absolutely, positively need that first strike stealth kill, players normally call up the sighting view (i.e., using the scope). Unfortunately, the player's scope view will always be "flawed" and a sure shot is not always the case.
Here's how to make the scope view more steady. When the crosshairs are over the target's head (or what ever you want to shoot at), press SQUARE to bring up the command menu. You will (barely) be able to see if you are on target or not. If not, exit the menu and repeat the process, but if you are on target, order the team to do something that won't amount to much like "get down" or "hold position".
Now you highlight the command, press and hold X and you will fire as you leave the command menu, hitting the target where you want.
SOCOM: U.S. Navy Seals II Hint: Steady Sniping
Whenever you first go into scope mode in the game, the crosshair will always bounce around. If you're patient and wait it out for a few seconds, the scope will settle completely, allowing you to get perfect, easy headshots. The length of time it takes for the crosshairs to settle depends on what position you're in. Prone takes less time, Crouching more time, and standing takes the most.
